Art and Music

Students in grades 1 through 5 who are interested in singing can join our chorus, which rehearses weekly after school.  The chorus, led by Music Director Tom BetGeorge, performs at the twice-yearly Evening of the Arts as well as various retirement homes in the local community.   

Art and music lessons are offered by Art and Soul Music Studios, an independent provider.   Lessons can be private or semi-private and are offered weekly in piano, guitar, drums, saxophone, clarinet, voice and more.  Art lessons are offered throughout the school year in continuous eight week sessions.  Art appreciation and historical themes are introduced as well as a variety of creative media explored in the art studio.  To learn more, click here.

Mad Science

Mad Science of Mt. Diablo offers hands-on, interactive, after school science enrichment programs.  Students find Mad Science classes to be a fun place to apply their knowledge of life, earth and physical sciences.  Mad Science sparks imaginative learning!

Berkeley Chess

Quarry Lane is proud to host weekly chess classes from The Berkeley Chess School.  The chess programs are designed for beginning, intermediate and advanced students in grades 1 through 5.  Instructors provide rigorous training in chess while making the process fun.  To learn more, click here. 

Extended Education Program

Quarry Lane offers morning and afternoon supervision for families in need of childcare before and after school.  Care is provided from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and dismissal to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Students participate in variety of activities including arts and crafts, homework club, sports and outdoor play.  Holiday camps are also offered throughout the year on several days when school is not in session.  For a fee schedule or to learn more, contact the lower school office at 925-829-8000.
